“THIS IS ONE OF THE TOP 5 THINGS TO DO IN NZ”
5 of 5 starsReviewed 28 September 2015
Kiakoura is one of the most welcoming and beautiful places I have ever be,and a must for any traveller(s) to wonderful New Zealand
While you are there you must give Levi O'connor at LEVISPEDELKAYAKS a call. We rang him in the morning, and that afternoon he picked us up at our campsite. He is the most likeable, knowledgeable and entertaining chap I have ever met.
My Son and I spent a glorious 3 hrs in Levi's company in his unique Pedal Kayaks (all equipment provided) where we travelled along the beauitiful Kaikoura coast. Here we met the resident Fur Seals and Levi told us about the place, the sea life, and it's past as a Whaling Town. He expertly guided us around the coast so we felt safe at all times.Don't forget your camera. After our experience Levi dropped us back to our campsite
I highly recommend is experience and strongly suggest that you call in a Levi's families jewellery shop ( near the railway bridge) and purchase something wonderful to remind you of your time in Kiakora.

Our family of four, two adults and two kids aged 7 and 10, had a fantastic afternoon with Levi's Pedal Kayaks. The pedal kayaks were great fun and easy to use, Levi was a fabulous guide, and the scenery was amazing. Highly recommend.

This is a fun family outing. The kayaks are very stable and easy to pedal and steer, leaving your hands free for taking photos etc. Within just a few minutes we relaxed in the kayaks and could enjoy the scenery and those beautiful seals. Levi is a terrific host - friendly and capable with a good sense of humor. He was great with our kids, they enjoyed his sense of fun. He didn't fuss over them at all, but we felt very safe. Nice new paddle jackets and life vests provided. This was great, we recommend this for all ages.

We booked the trip very last minute, about half an hour before Levi picked us up. He didn't mind at all and was very enthusiastic, helpful, and informative. Great trip, loads of seals and the opportunity to see more if luck is in your favour (penguins, dolphins etc). The boasts are really easy to use and great fun and the scenery is stunning.

These pedal kayaks were great and so comfortable! It felt like I was lounging on a recline chair, it was dry, safe and sturdy. Even though the day was cloudy, the scenes were still spectacular, and even enhanced by the rolling clouds. I simply felt at peace just floating in the middle of the sea and seeing nothing but mountains and water.

We saw a bunch of marine life including little penguins swimming through the water, seals playing in the water and even spotted some dolphins in the distance. Unfortunately we weren't quick enough to catch up to them and they didn't stay for us.

Our guide was extremely helpful and informative on this tour. He went the extra mile to make the tour comfortable and safe, made sure you stayed dry and warm, tried hard to spot (and chase down) interesting marine life for us to see and took brilliant photos for us.

Travelled so far in these three hours, walking was hard after this but it was so worth it. The tour went for three hours, we spent 2 on the water. One of the best things that I did in New Zealand.

Had a great few hours on the ocean with Levi. Called him up the day before and he was really accommodating, letting us pick a time and place to meet. Provided us with all the gear we needed and shared lots of local knowledge with us as we paddled around the beautiful Kaikoura peninsula. Pedal kayaks so simple to use, anyone could do it, and it was a great way to get up close to the seal colony and enjoy the stunning views. Lots of marine life to see; seals, seabirds, penguins, and whales and dolphins if you're lucky. Levi was awesome, dude even caught a fish with his bare hands, then offered us some for our dinner! Really friendly guy running a great service in an amazing location, can't recommend it enough.
